About Us
Discover our Dream….
Martin and Libby Herdman have come together and realised a lifelong dream of offering a Healing Sanctuary and Wellness Centre to people who require the great benefits that the many healing modalities can bring.
They work at their sanctuary deep in the heart of the South Downs National Park, where they offer a wide range of healing practices including Shamanic Healing, Reiki, Pranic Healing, Sound Healing, Hypnotherapy, 1:1 and Group Sound Healing Ceremonies, Cacao and Fire Ceremonies, yoga, Breathwork, amino acid supplement therapy, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), bespoke and Seasonal retreats. The sanctuary is a recognised college with CMA and offers courses on Sound Healing.
Our Healing Experience & Knowledge
We have both been involved in many aspects of the healing arts for over 30 years and have learned from many teachers.
Our intention with the Sanctuary is to make a difference in this world by combining our own experience, modalities and knowledge in many aspects of healing to support our clients journeys to optimal health of the mind, body and spirit.

Martin has been a healer for over 25 years and has trained in and uses Shamanic Healing, Hypnotherapy, Spiritual Healing, Sound or Vibrational Healing, Journey work, Counseling, Spiritual Cleansing, and Physical Emotional Healing as part of his regular practice.
Martin was drawn to healing after the onset of his Mother's terminal illness. He realised that there must be a way to help suffering in an alternative, holistic way, when conventional medicine fails us. This is not to say that conventional medicine does not work, of course it helps many people.
Martin’s curiosity in these healing arts has led him over the years to learn and practice many of these modalities. He has worked at the prestigious Harry Edwards Healing Sanctuary in Shere for over five years, at Barnes healing Church in south London for three years and he has had his own practice for over 15 years. He has studied and qualified in many different forms of healing and draws on his varied knowledge to help people recover and to start them on their own spiritual journey.

Libby Herdman
Holistic Nurse (NMC) and Integrative Health Practitioner.
My name is Libby Herdman, and I'm a Registered General Nurse (RGN), Integrative Health Practitioner and Co-Founder of The Herdman Healing Sanctuary.
For more than 40 years, I have had the privilege of caring for people during some of the most challenging moments of their lives. My nursing career taught me that while medicine plays a vital role, true healing often begins when people feel genuinely listened to, understood and cared for as whole individuals.
In recent years I become increasingly aware that many people are living with chronic stress, burnout, anxiety, digestive problems, hormonal imbalances, fatigue and other ongoing health concerns, yet often felt they had nowhere to turn. They wanted someone who would take the time to listen, understand the bigger picture and help them discover the root causes of their symptoms rather than simply managing them.
That realisation changed the direction of my career.
My passion for understanding why people become unwell inspired me to continue learning far beyond conventional nursing. I immersed myself in nutrition, amino acid therapy, naturopathy, yoga, breathwork, sound healing, Reiki, Pranic Healing and other complementary therapies. Rather than replacing conventional medicine, I believe these approaches can work alongside it, supporting the body's remarkable ability to restore balance and wellbeing.
Today, my work combines professional nursing knowledge with an integrative approach that honours the connection between body, mind and spirit. Every person is unique, and I believe healing should be just as individual.
Some people come to me because they're living with chronic stress, burnout, anxiety, hormonal changes, digestive problems or persistent fatigue and are looking for personalised health support. Others are seeking deep relaxation, emotional healing, spiritual growth or simply the opportunity to reconnect with themselves.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach.
Together, we'll explore what you need most and create a path that feels right for you.
Alongside my one-to-one consultations, I work with my husband, Martin, at the Sanctuary, where we have created a peaceful space dedicated to healing, learning and personal transformation.

My Philosophy
I believe healing is about so much more than relieving symptoms. It's about understanding your unique story, discovering what may be contributing to your health challenges and supporting you as a whole person—physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
As a Registered General Nurse, my work is grounded in professionalism, integrity and compassion. Every person who works with me is treated with kindness, respect and complete confidentiality.
I feel incredibly privileged to do the work I love. Every person who comes to me has their own story, their own challenges and their own hopes for the future. It is an honour to be trusted to walk alongside them, offering guidance, encouragement and support every step of the way.
Whether we work together online or meet at the Sanctuary, my hope is that you'll leave feeling heard, understood and empowered—with renewed confidence in your body's ability to heal and a deeper sense of balance, resilience and wellbeing.
I look forward to welcoming you on your journey
